INTENTION TO CLOSE THE R659 HOLYCROSS TO THURLES, CO. TIPPERARY

NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council proposes to make an Order closing:

ROAD TO
BE CLOSED The R659 Holycross to Thurles, Co. Tipperary
PERIOD OF
CLOSURE: 00:00hrs on Friday 29 May 2026 to 00:00hrs on Friday 17 July 2026.
ALTERNATIVE
ROUTES: Traffic to divert via the R659 and R660

REASON FOR CLOSURE: To facilitate the Installation of watermain for Uisce Eireann upgrade

Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary not later than 12 noon on Thursday 07 May 2026 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie

DECISION TO CLOSE THE N62 AT AIB BANK, O’DONOVAN ROSSA STREET, THURLES, CO TIPPERARY

NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council has made an Order closing:

ROAD TO
BE CLOSED N62 at the AIB Bank, O’Donovan Rossa Street, Thurles, Co Tipperary.
PERIOD OF
CLOSURE: 06:00hrs to 20:00hrs on Sunday 17 May 2026, Sunday 24 May 2026 and Sunday 31 May 2026.
ALTERNATIVE
ROUTES: Traffic will be diverted via L-4026-0 Cúchulann Road turning left onto R498 Parnell Street.

HGV traffic will be diverted via the L-4039-0 Jimmy Doyle Road.
REASON FOR CLOSURE: To facilitate painting to the exterior of the AIB Bank.

From 08.00hrs to 19.00hrs on the 29 April 2026.
Local Access only, expect delays.

Through road but 3.5 ton weight restriction applies over bridge.
