Training:
The following training courses are available to Tipperary Civil Defence volunteers, subject to availability length of service and at the discretion of the Civil Defence Officer. Please note that some of these training disciplines only become available to volunteers once they have completed their required mandatory training requirements.
Minimum Training Standard for Civil Defence Volunteers are:
- Children First (Online programme)
- Cardiac First Response (CFR)
- Manual Handling (Civil Defence specific)
- Induction
Additional Training:
Cardiac First Response/Advanced (CFR/A) (Mandatory for EFR/EMT)
First Aid Response (FAR)
Emergency First Response (EFR)
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (Conducted through National CD College)
People Moving (Mandatory for EMTS & Specific to Civil Defence operations /activities)
Food Safety and You Level 1
Communications (Specific to Civil Defence operations/activities)
Boating and Swiftwater operations
Drones
Adverse Weather Off Road Driving (Specific to Civil Defence operation/activities)
