Tipperary County Council have approximately 250 vehicles used by our staff to deliver our services. The emissions from this fleet of vehicles accounts for 25% Tipperary County Council’s GHG emissions. Tipperary County Council are leading the way in reducing emissions from our fleet by purchasing electrical vehicles to replace diesel fuelled vehicles. At the moment there are no non-fossil fuel alternative for larger vehicles. Again, Tipperary County Council are leading the way in trialing HVO a non fossil fuel alternatives to diesel. The use of HVO can reduce the GHG emissions from a vehicle by up to 90%
Tipperary County Council has published its Draft Local Authority Climate Action Plan for the period 2024 – 2029 (LACAP) and is accepting submissions from stakeholders and the general public until 4.00pm Monday 6th November 2023
