Tipperary County Council wishes to provide the following clarification in relation to the cross-section of the road component of the Preferred Transport Solution for the N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction Project:
The cross-section of the road component of the Preferred Transport Solution has yet to be determined and the Design Team assessments are ongoing. All relevant TII standards and guidance relating to the selection of the cross-section are being taken into consideration by the Design Team as part of the design development in Phase 3 (Design and Environmental Evaluation) of the Project. There are many factors to be considered in this selection, including but not limited to: safety, climate, environment, traffic, economic factors, etc.
At Phase 2, Option Selection, a single carriageway was used by the Design Team for the indicative design to create the option corridors. That indicative design was preliminary only and subject to change. It was noted in the Option Selection Report that the final cross-section would be determined during Phase 3.
