Tipperary Bealtaine Festival

Each year in the month of May, Bealtaine is presented as an annual nationwide festival celebrating the arts and creativity as we age. The festival is an initiative of Age & Opportunity, the national organisation that promotes active and engaged living as we get older. We at Tipperary Arts Office together with our colleagues in the Library Service are delighted to once again present an extensive, interactive programme throughout the county. Tipperary Bealtaine Festival 2023 presents a busy month of workshops, theatre, concerts, poetry, exhibitions, literature, dance and crafts.

Watch Hit Songs of the New Seekers Online Concert.

In this Online Concert Pat and Fran Marnane, Eddie Golden and Kathleen O’Callaghan will perform a selection of hit songs from the world-renowned British folk/pop group The New Seekers.

Tipperary Bealtaine Festival 2025

Each year in the month of May, Bealtaine is presented as an annual nationwide festival celebrating the arts and creativity as we age. The festival is an initiative of Age & Opportunity, the national organisation that promotes active and engaged living as we get older. 

Tipperary Arts Office is issuing an open call to artists born or based in County Tipperary to submit a written proposal for an engagement project or event targeted at older people, culminating in a showcase during the month of May 2025 as part of the Bealtaine Festival.

We would like to hear from professional artists, or groups of artists, from across all artforms. The funding available to each project will range from €1,000 to €3,500 depending on size, scale and reach of the proposal. Please find attached information sheet below.

Deadline for submissions is 12 noon Thursday 9 January 2025

How to apply: submissions should be emailed to artsoffice@tipperarycoco.ie 

Submissions should be marked Bealtaine Open Call 2025 and should include:

• Project proposal

• Artist CV(s)

• Three examples of previous relevant practice (images, videos etc.)

• Budget
