Nenagh Municipal District, in conjunction with the Nenagh Town Team, have appointed consultants Nicholas de Jong Associates to prepare an Integrated Urban Strategy for Nenagh Town. This will be guided by a collaborative and place-based approach following the Town Centre First (TCF) Policy.
The Integrated Urban Strategy will:
- Set out a clear, visual and action-based strategy for the future development and revitalisation of Nenagh.
- Identify projects that promote the conservation and adaptive reuse of the built heritage while reducing vacancy and dereliction in the Town Centre.
- Address the prioritisation, development and specification of project proposals to create a pipeline of investment-ready public realm, built heritage refurbishment, renovation and adaptive reuse projects.
The Strategy will be the new blueprint for the town, action oriented, and will identify specific interventions required to meet the objectives of the Town Centre First Policy. It will provide clarity and transparency so that retailers, businesses, community groups, local people, along with people who live within the town’s hinterland, can get behind and clearly see the opportunities to deliver a town which has a vibrant and sustainable future as a place to live, work, visit and do business.
Process
We now seek the input of the community to this Strategy and invite individuals and groups to submit their views. The Questionnaire can be completed and submitted on line hereunder. Closing date for submissions is 21st March 2025.
