TUS Student Council Youth Festival 

The 1st ever health and well-being festival took place at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Clonmel campus on Thursday Sept 26th.  Over 500 people took part in this event where participants were encouraged to get arty and crafty with local artists. Patrick Davoren - manager of the Regional Sports Hub said that "organisers wanted to increase community awareness of the TUS University/Sports Hub and highlight the importance of social inclusion". Several- local schools attended on the day and Patrick is delighted that more and more people are coming to use the Sports Hub/track/playground.

Child and Youth Participation Award

Tipperary County Council achieved the Child and Youth Participation Award for their Quality-of-life consultation with the children and young people of Clonmel. To carry out the consultation Tipperary County Council sought to collaborate with TUS and the South Tipperary Arts Centre. The consultations took the form of focus groups with varying age cohorts from a range of schools, education centres and a third level institute. The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 28th November 2024 12 to 3pm in the Lighthouse Cinema Dublin.

Tipperary Age Friendly EXPO 2024

On Thursday 20th June Tipperary Age Friendly were delighted to host its annual Age Friendly EXPO in the TUS Campus in Thurles.
This is the 3rd Age Friendly EXPO held at the college campus. It featured 64 information stands ranging from Council Services including Community, Local Enterprise Office, Tourism, Sports Partnership, Fire Service, Libraries and Museum, Health, Housing, Technology, Family Resource and Community and Voluntary Sector. We had a number of new information stands this year as we grow from strength to strength.
