Arts Act Grant Scheme 2025

Tipperary County Council invites applications for assistance under the Arts Act Grant Scheme 2025. The Tipperary Arts Act Grant Scheme is intended to assist organisations with arts related costs, run an arts programme, project or event which would, in the opinion of the Council, deliver quality arts experiences to participants and audiences, to increase opportunities for participation and engagement in the arts and to contribute to the development of the arts in the county.

The Arts means any creative or interpretative expression (whether traditional or contemporary) and includes in particular visual arts, theatre, literature, music, dance, opera, film, circus and architecture and includes any medium when used for those purposes.

Applications should be made on the official application form and should comply with the guidelines set out by Tipperary County Council.

The deadline for application is 12 noon on Thursday 20th February 2025.

BLAS International Summer School for Traditional Irish Music and Dance

Status: OPEN

Tipperary County Council offers two bursaries to attend the BLAS summer school at the University of Limerick. The value of the bursary covers 1 week’s tuition (one-week intensive of masterclasses, Irish language, lectures and concerts). The purpose of these bursaries is to support professional development of artists.

Applicants must be living in the County Tipperary administrative area.

Creative Ireland Grant Scheme Information

The Tipperary Creative Ireland grant schemes 2025 are now closed forapplications.

The Creative Ireland programme is a culture based programme which was created in 2017 following on from the hugely successful  ‘Ireland 2016’ initiative which celebrated the hundredth anniversary of the Easter Rising. The vision of the Creative Ireland Programme 2023 - 2027 is to mainstream culture and creativity in the life of the nation so that individually and collectively, in our personal lives and in our institutions, we can realise our full creative potential thereby promoting individual, community and national wellbeing.

The Strategic Priorities for the Tipperary Creative Ireland programme 2023 - 2027 are:

  1. Our Peoples Creativity - to nurture culture & creativity across the county, foster relationships between creative practitioners & communities, provide opportunity for creative engagement & promote inclusivity in access to participation in cultural activity.

     

  2. Our Creative Economy - the key goal of this priority is to support cultural & creative activities which have an economic impact e.g. our creative industries. We welcome applications which may feature fashion, design, digital gaming, crafts etc

     

  3. Our Creative Place - a sense of place is central to our priorities, in terms of knowing our culture, landscape and environment which connects spaces, places and people. We welcome applications from archaeologists, heritage experts, historians, archivists and creatives which focus on our culture and heritage. 

     

  4. Creative Climate Action – to focus on projects which have a climate action element to collectively address these issues.

Local Drama Scheme 2025

The aim of the Local Drama Scheme is to acknowledge and support the key role played by local drama groups in the cultural life of the county. 
Up to two development awards will be allocated under this scheme to assist groups in: 
•    developing skills within the group 
•    enhancing production values 
•    availing of further training 
•    availing of professional input 
•    for other development needs as identified by individual groups. 
•    special Projects

The Tyrone Guthrie Centre Regional Bursary Scheme 2025

Tipperary County Council usually funds two bursary awards annually to professional artists living in Tipperary to develop work at the County Monaghan workplace for artists. 

Each Bursary covers a one-week stay at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan. Facilities at the centre include artist studios, music room, dark room, acoustic recording studio and performance/dance space.

Provisional deadline for application is 12 noon on Thursday 27th February 2025, but this is to be confirmed.

Tipperary Artists Award Scheme 2025

Tipperary Artists Award Scheme 2025

This scheme seeks to support artists living in the Tipperary Administrative area in developing their own arts practice under the following categories:
A - Professional Development (e.g. further training, workshops or masterclasses)
B  -Creation of new work (e.g. materials assistance, exploration/research assistance/time)
C – Reaching Audiences (e.g. recording, publication or exhibition assistance)
The aim of this scheme is to 
•    Support the development of the artists existing practice
•    To  encourage artists to live and work in Tipperary
•    Contribute to the growth of skilled artists in the county. 
Open to applications from professional artists working in all art forms who must be living in the Tipperary administrative area.
Assessed by independent assessment panel.
