Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2025

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, has announced the continued implementation of the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) 2025 for the repair and conservation of protected structures, which includes revised timeframes and criteria to incorporate elements of Historic Structures Fund (HSF) Stream 1

This announcement is approximately four months earlier than the traditional timeframe and along with an increase in the value for individual grants that be awarded from €15,000 to €50,000, is one of several changes that have been made to the scheme for 2025 to try to make it more efficient both for applicants and those administering the scheme.  All changes are outlined in the BHIS 2025 Circular.

The Circular on the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2025, Guidance Document, FAQ's and the Application Form are available to download below.

Applications for the scheme should be made directly by post or email to the Planning Section of Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. The email address to be used is planning@tipperarycoco.ie
