INTENTION TO CLOSE THE R498 KILKEARY, NENAGH, CO. TIPPERARY.
NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council proposes to make an Order closing:
ROAD TO
BE CLOSED The R498 Nenagh to Borrisoleigh Regional Road at Kilkeary, Nenagh. The road will be closed from Kilkeary Cross Roads to Ballinamona Cross Roads.
PERIOD OF
CLOSURE: 07:00hrs on Wednesday 24 June 2026 to 19:00hrs on Friday 03 July 2026.
ALTERNATIVE
ROUTES: South Bound traffic from Nenagh to Borrisoleigh: At Kilkeary crossroads, divert north on the L6078 to Norwood, east on the R445 to Toomevara, south on the R499 to Ballinamona and re-join the R498 at Ballinamona crossroads.
North Bound Traffic from Borrisoleigh to Nenagh: At Ballinamona crossroads, divert north on the R499 to Toomevara, west on the R445 to Norwood , south on the L6078 to Kilkeary and re-join the R498 at Kilkeary crossroads. Alternatively, Nenagh bound traffic can continue straight ahead on the R445 at Norwood
REASON FOR CLOSURE: To facilitate the resurfacing of the R498 Kilkeary, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary not later than 12 noon on Friday 05 June 2026 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
